Age Limit For Indian Air Force
The age limit is one basic and most important criteria in any recruitment process. The age limit for group x is 17 to 28 years and the age group of Y Group is 17 to 25 years.Candidate born between 19th July 2000 and 01st July 2004 are eligible to apply. In case, a candidate clears all the stages of the Selection Procedure, then the upper age limit as on date of enrollment is 21 years. Although the age group varies according to post to post.
Educational Qualifications For Indian Air Force
The educational qualification is different for different group that is it varies for Group X and Group Y. A detailed eligibility is given in the boxes below.
Group X educational eligibility [EXCEPT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR TRADE]
If you are the applicant of Indian air force group x then you need to possess one of the 2 rows given.
|The candidate must have passed intermediate that is 12th or an Equivalent exam with Mathematics, Physics and English from an Educational Board listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English OR|
|The candidate must have passed 3-years Diploma Course in Engineering in any stream, as mentioned in the drop down menu of apply online section under candidate’s login on the CASB web portal. The candidate should have completed the course from a Govt. recognized Polytechnic institute listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in diploma, or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course.|
Group X (Education Instructor Trade)
|For Age Group 20-25 Years- Graduate in English or Bachelor’s in Physics/Psychology/Chemistry/Mathematics/IT/Computer Science/Statistics (any one subject) with 55% marks. B.Ed. degree with 50% from recognized University.|
|For Age Group 20-28 Years- Masters in English/Psychology or M.Sc.in Mathematics/Physics/Statistics/Computer Science with 50% marks.B.Ed. degree with 50% marks from a recognized University|
Group ‘Y’ [Except Medical Assistant & Musician] Trades
|Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Exam in any stream/subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English OR|
|Passed two years vocational course from Educational Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course.|
Group Y (Med Asst. Trade)
|10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from recognized University/Board with aggregate 50% marks|
Group Y (Musician Trade)
|Passed 10th or equivalent from recognized Board with at least one of the following musical instrument- Trumpet/Bass/ Violin / Saxophone /Clarinet / Euphonium /Jazz-Drum/Piccolo/Brass Trombone/Key Board/Guitar/Sarod/Viola/Cello/Contra Bass (String Bass)|
You will be requiring the documents of these educational qualification. There is a stage of document verification. In this stage all your documents including medical and educational are included. Therefore keep your original as well as photocopy of these documents with you all.
Some Other Selection Related Criteria
There are 6 more criteria. These 6 criteria include Height, chest, weight, hearing ,dental and health. The candidate should possess all of them. These are the medical standards. These are the medical related criteria which are going to come in the PET and PST. You need to fit in all these medical standards otherwise you will be out from the medical stage.
1.Height: Minimum height required in Indian air force is 152.5 cm
2.Chest: Minimum range of expansion is 5 cm
3.Weight: Your weight is in proportion to height and age. The minimum weight of 55 Kg required for Operations Assistant (ATS) Trade only
4.Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. the candidate is able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately
5.Dental: The candidate should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points
6.Health: Candidate should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or infection and skin all.
